What do you do here? Afternoons and Program Director
Tell us about your radio history. I started in radio at age 14 babysitting the board for Yankee games on WSNG in Torrington . If the game was rained out, I got to play DJ! From there I did weekends on I-95's AM station WINE. I started on I-95 in 1985 and have been here ever since (not counting a 5 year detour to Long Island , New Hampshire , and Tennessee ).
Who were your radio influences? Jeff Longaven on WSNG in Torrington , Bill Lee on WTIC in Hartford , and Ethan Carey on I-95!
Who are your favorite groups or artists? Springsteen, Beatles, Stones, Who, Aerosmith, Eagles, Clapton… You name it!
What famous musicians have you met? Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters, Ron Wood, Aerosmith, Jon Bon Jovi, Ann & Nancy Wilson, Neil Young, John Fogerty, Van Halen, Creed, Slash, ZZ Top, AC/DC – Wow! Pretty cool actually.
What was the first concert you ever saw? First concert – The Village People at The Springfield Civic Center (gimme a break, I was 11!). First rock concert – Peter Frampton at The New Haven Coliseum.
What was the BEST concert you ever saw? Too many to mention. Probably a Bruce show somewhere along the way.
Do you play a musical instrument? Guitar – Badly.
What are your hobbies outside of the radio station? Playing guitar badly, hanging out with my family, watching & coaching baseball.
What are your favorite movies? “Major League,” “Spinal Tap,” “The Princess Bride,” “Fast Times,” Monty Python & the Holy Grail,” and “Mr. Deeds” (actually not that great a movie, but hey, it put New Milford on the map!)
What are your favorite television shows? “CSI,” "Numb3ers," and you can catch me watching VH1 Classic from time to time.
What are your favorite sports teams? Red Sox, Patriots, Bluefish, Rock Cats, Portland Sea Dogs (Sox AA team)
What's your guilty pleasure? Karaoke
What is your favorite “Adult” beverage? Shipyard Summer Ale
