1986 - “That’s What Friends Are For” reached the top of the charts. The song was a collaboration between many artists and featured Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and Elton John, and raised money for the American Foundation for AIDS Research.

1989 - The Rolling Stones, Dion, Otis Redding and Stevie Wonder were all inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

1995 - Jerry Garcia sideswiped a guardrail in a rented BMW near Mill Valley, California, but managed to avoid injury.
