1967 - The Doors played on The Ed Sullivan Show performing their hit songs "Light My Fire" and "People Are Strange."

1967 - The Who made an appearance on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, where a flash explosion mishap damaged the ears of guitarist Pete Townsend.

1976 - Ringo Starr released Ringo's Rotogravure.

1991 - Guns N' Roses released Use Your Illusion I and II simultaneously.

1997 - Fleetwood Mac set out on a reunion tour to support their album The Dance.

2003 - David Lee Roth injured himself while attempting a complicated samurai move onstage. The flamboyant singer required 21 stitches after the staff he was wielding struck him in the face, prompting him to cancel the remainder of his tour a few days later.
