PAUL MCCARTNEY, BOB DYLAN: Go On, Call Him
Those "Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan are collaborating" rumors are bound to pick up again after McCartney's new interview with the Scotland magazine The Big Issue. McCartney tells the magazine, "He's spoken of me very kindly in a couple of interviews and I'm a massive fan of his. But I still can't get up the nerve to ring him. You know, it's Bob Dylan, man! He's a great guy and I've known him over the years. So if anything kind of organically happened, or I suddenly got the courage to ring him, then that would certainly be an intriguing prospect."
JAMES TAYLOR: Performing at Fenway Hockey Game
James Taylor is set to perform the national anthem before the game between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers on New Year's Day. The 2010 Bridgestone N-H-L Winter Classic, which will take place outdoors at Boston's Fenway Park, will also include pre-game performances by Daniel Powter and Dropkick Murphys. The game airs at 1 p-m [ET] on N-B-C.
AC/DC: This Is for the Birds!
An A-C/D-C show scheduled for May 22nd in Austria is stirring up controversy with an animal rights group. N-G-O Birdlife says the band's show at the Wels Airport will threaten the curlew, a rare bird species that nests in the area, and the organization is threatening legal action to block the gig. N-G-O Birdlife says the show should take place about a month later, when the bird's nesting time will be over.
